SupportTo receive and hear prayer notifications from the Prayer Times application, please make sure to:
iOS
- Activate adhan or tone for each prayer:
1. Tap the icon next to the name of the prayer you want to edit.
2. Tap Mode.
3. Select Tone or Adhan.
- Allow notifications for Prayer Times in the Settings menu of your device (see Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch – Apple Support).
- Activate sound on your device (see If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker – Apple Support).
- Turn OFF "Do Not Disturb" (see Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch – Apple Support)
- Run the app at least once a week:
Prayer times change every day based on the position of the sun. This is why we can't set a recurring notification (which would go off everyday at the same time) and need to set each adhan separately for everyday. To avoid bugs, we decided to program notifications every time you run the app, for the next 10 days. So if the adhan notifications have stopped working after few days, just launch the app and the issue should be fixed.
Android
- Activate adhan or tone for each prayer:
1. Tap the icon next to the name of the prayer you want to edit.
2. Select Tone or Adhan.
3. Tap OK.
- Allow notifications for Prayer Times in the Settings menu of your device (see Change notifications for certain apps – Google Support).
- Activate sound on your device (see Change volume, sound & vibrate settings on Android – Google Support).
- Turn OFF "Do Not Disturb" (see Limit interruptions with Do Not Disturb on Android – Google Support).
- Install app on the main memory of your device:
The Prayer Times application reprograms adhan notifications every time you restart your device which requires the app to run on the main memory. If the app is installed on the external storage (as SD card), adhan notifications might stop working or seem unstable (some work and some don't) after rebooting your device.
- Disable the battery/power saving mode on your device (see Use battery saver on Android – Google Support)
On Android, battery or power saving modes can affect the notifications and often result in the notification not to be displayed at all or not received on time.
Note: If the prayer notifications are still not working after following the steps above, please try to reinstall the app.
